A unique 3 day, 35km hike where participants have an opportunity to touch the birth places of some of South Africa’s Iconic freedom fighters including President Nelson Mandela.

The Icon’s Journey Marathon vision was inspired by President Nelson Mandela’s journey of growing up in the rural villages of the former Transkei homeland to becoming a Global Icon.

RACE INFO
19 TO 21 July 2024
35km Hike
Day 1 : Meet and greet at Nelson Mandela Museum (Mthatha). Tour Madiba’s historical landmarks; Qunu, Mqhekezweni and Clarkebury. Sleep over at Hluleka Nature Reserve.
Day 2 : Hike from Hluleka to Mdumbi and lodge for the night.
Day 3 : Hike from Mdumbi to Coffee Bay and make a turn to Hole in the wall.
Hike includes; transportation, meals, iconic t-shirt, 2 x nights accommodation.
Costs:
R2200 per person.
Entry covers return transport from Mthatha CBD, food, accommodation, Iconic T-shirt and the intimate tour of both villages by a tour guide.
