7KM RUN VIRTUAL CHALLENGE (1)

Following the decision taken by the organising committee of The Icon's Journey Marathon to postpone the event which was scheduled for 18-19 July 2020.  It was further resolved to hold virtual challenges in rememberance of our Global Icon, former President Nelson Mandela.

Participants will choose their own routes anywhere in South Africa to virtually trace in the footsteps of the global Icon, Nelson Mandela.

Challenge Calculations:

7x Day run challenge from 18 July to 24 July:

1. Clarkebury High School to Mvezo Village

103km (64 miles) / 7 days = 14.71km (9.14 miles) per day

Fun For The Whole Family:

2x Day Run Challenge from 18 July to 19 July:

1. Qunu Village to Mvezo Village 35 km (21.74 miles) 

35 km (21.74 miles) / 2 days = 17.5km (10.87 miles) per day

1x Day Run Challenge on 18 July:

1. Nelson Mandela School of Science & Technology to Mvezo Village

12km (7.46 miles)

2. Lewanika Makgatho Primary School to Mvezo Village

7km (.35 miles)

1x Day Cycling Challenge on 18 July:

1. Clarkebury High School to Mvezo Village

103km (64 miles)

2. Qunu Village to Mvezo Village

35km (21.75 miles)
