400KM ICONIC CHALLENGE

In July 2021, 15 social runners ran from Fort Hare University in Alice to Mvezo village in 8 days covering a total distance of 400km. The aim was to raise enough funds to benefit 4000 rural / township school boys and girls with school shoes, sanitary towels & sports kits.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

RULES OR CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS:

  • The applicant must be at least 18 years or older.

  • The application is open to everyone in South Africa.

  • We are looking for 20 runners for the 400km Iconic Challenge Fundraising initiative.

  • If the applicant is approved and decides not to run anymore, the applicant needs to advise The Icon's Journey Marathon Organising Committee 4 weeks prior to the event.

WHAT RUNNERS MUST KNOW:

  • ​The 400km Iconic Challenge fundraising initiative takes place on the 03rd July 2022 to the 10th July 2022 in the Eastern Cape.The run cuts through Eastern Cape’s Resistance & Liberation Heritage Route.

  • The 20 social runners will take part in an 8 days 400km charity run to raise funds that will benefit school boys and girls from underprivileged communities.

  • The Icon’s Journey Marathon is liable for the logistics around the event.
